The Top 10 Kickstarter Projects This Week

So we all know Kick-starter is awesome, but since it began, its been flooded with projects, some great, and some not so great. Luckily for you, we have trawled through the thousands of kick-starter projects this week to bring you the top ten which you just might need to have in your life!

This is the wireless smartphone charger. It looks like an apple product which will probably add something to its selling capability. Overall the idea is pretty awesome and the price is reasonable for a wireless charger. The only qualm I might have with this would be the fact that the phone has to be touching the pad to charge. I know it’s early days yet but it seems like if you want to eliminate cables, you would allow the device to charge within a remote range rather than in direct contact. Either way it’s pretty awesome and I’ll definitely be picking up one of these to try out.

This is for all you hunter gatherers out there who love to rough it. This sleeping  bag is state of the art with new materials and an innovative customisable construction making it the perfect bag for summertime festivals or winter camping trips.

By far, this might be the coolest project we’ve seen on kick-starter in a while. Although it looks like something out of Star Trek, it’s actually a pretty nice design which I personally wouldn’t mind wearing. There are some awesome features to this product but I would only recommend it if you’re an avid gamer or a frequent flyer. They advertise it as something you can use whilst waiting for a bus or even on a commute to work but I’m not so sure. Your vision is completely impaired so you can’t see anything or anyone around you;  living in London, i'm not sure you want to be sitting on a bus and completely unaware of your surroundings. It has a high price point which is to be expected with this sort of innovative technology but I see these becoming the next chapter in headphone evolution, so look out for other major brands making similar items at cheaper price points.

This is a cool little camera which has been marketed as the one that will help you capture those ‘unexpected’ moments. I think it’ll become a staple amongst cyclists and sports enthusiasts simply because of its versatility and size. Also the remote storage is an added benefit which no other micro camera has yet utilised. If this production goes well and they can build accessories and secure casing units for it, this may well rival products such as the Go Pro.

This was just awesome.

As we move into the micro age where everything needs to be smaller to be better (see what I did there), we present to you the Flekt. As an avid photographer and videographer, this is an awesome tool methinks. It gives you studio lighting for a fraction of the cost and the weight. The convenience and price point of this will surely make it a best seller.

Ok, so it’s not the best video in the world, but for you craft enthusiasts, this machine is great. For a DIY kit you can’t ask for more. You can custom engrave a multitude of different objects with laser precision. Lasers you say? I like it.

This is great if you’re a home owner or just love cool gadgets. It’s basically an inline remote which allows you to connect to any device and take control of it remotely through your smartphone. I see this becoming a boom product with the way home automation is taking off. As more and more people want actions carried out seamlessly, (think turning on your oven or heating before you get home) this product will become more and more popular.

This project has an element of new age social enterprise involved so that’s why it caught my attention; it had nothing to do with lingerie. It’s essentially a luxury women’s lingerie brand but the really cool benefit is that they teach single mothers in some of the poorest areas in the world to sow and create these undergarments. So if you want to feel good whilst you look good, check these guys out. I should write slogans for a living.

Combozip is a multipurpose accessory which makes sure you never forget those all important cables to charge your smartphone or transfer files via usb. Its a really cool design and a great price for what you are getting. The added benefit of it having a card reader is awesome. I've already bought one to keep in the bag.
